Wisdom Books Case Study

Wisdom Books was actually the first e-commerce website that Fairfax Computing built back in 2001 just after our incorporation.

Wisdom are a niche bookseller, specialising in books on the subjects of Buddhism, Tibet and meditation. The website also sells DVDs, Posters, Calendars and even fine art prints.

They are currently on their third generation site that we have built for them. The most recent site that was launched in September 2015 is now responsive to work on mobile devices.

The website is integrated to a back office system called Bookmanager, which holds the master product catalogue, and also performs all the sales order and financial processing. A base product feed is sent from Bookmanager to the site on a regular basis, where extra website specific content is added. The site then sends orders back to Bookmanager, which in turn updates the website with order status changes.

Wisdom are able to administer all aspects of the website via an online control panel, which also features some reporting features for instant visibility of the websites sales performance.

The site features some advanced promotional functionaility such as a "Buy X for X" feature, which lets you create multibuy deals for upselling.

The control panel features an automated email newsletter template - all you need to do is specify the products that you want to feature in various sections, and you can get the email creative without any coding know how at all.

The email marketing is delivered via Constant Contact, so the site speaks directly to them via the Constant Contact APIs.

We also assisted with Wisdom's Google Adwords campaigns.
